The 5th Annual Austin Greek Festival is set to take place on Memorial Day weekend, from May 24 to May 26. Over the span of three days, the city will come alive with the distinct sights, sounds, and flavors of Greece.
This exceptional gathering is organized by the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, with the purpose of extensively celebrating and educating the community about Greek culture. The event promises an array of activities such as live music, dance sessions, spiritual exploration, shopping, and dining.
Attendees will witness the marvel of Greek enjoy. A professional Greek band will set the rhythm while professional Greek dancers will paint an alluring picture of Greek folklore and tradition.
Guests will be presented with an opportunity to explore the Greek Orthodox faith through interactive tours of the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church. This will provide a fascinating insight into Byzantine art, iconography, and the core tenets of Orthodox religion.
One of the undisputed highlights of any cultural festival is surely the food, and this Greek festival is no exception.
