Ben Kweller to Headline Amplify LIVE, Among Other Noteworthy Music Events in Austin This Late April
A string of highly anticipated music events are poised to hit the town of Austin this coming late April, including festivals such as the Austin Psych Fest, Austin Blues Festival, and Austin Reggae Fest. However, besides these biggest highlights, it’s worth underlining numerous outstanding local shows slated for the period.
Amplify Live at the Scoot Inn – April 18
Amplify Live, set for Thursday, April 18 at the Scoot Inn, is an event benefiting the cause of “I Live Here I Give Here”. Renowned artist Ben Kweller is scheduled as the main attraction for the night, with supporting performances by Kalu and The Electric Joint and TheBrosFresh. The tickets are priced at $35.
The Juniper Berries at Cheer Up Charlie’s – April 19
Psyche-pop band The Juniper Berries will mark the release of their latest album, Death and Taxes, with a celebratory gig at Cheer Up Charlie’s on Friday, April 19. Batty Jr, The Stacks, and Gilded Lows will join the party, with the entrance fee being $10 at the door.
Hemp Fest at ABGB – April 20

Booher is all set to showcase their indie rock chops and new music from their yet-to-be-released album at the Mohawk on Thursday, April 25. Supporting acts for the night include Blood Pumps, Lynzi, and Tiny House. Attendees can purchase tickets for the event at $12.
Briscoe at Stubb’s – April 26
Briscoe, an emerging band in the Americana genre, will be headlining at Stubb’s on Friday, April 26. Last seen with their debut album, West of It All, released in September last year, they’ll be accompanied by Coleman Jennings. Tickets for the show are available for $22.50. Moreover, Indie pop act Montclair will follow with a show at Stubb’s Indoors – attendees from the Briscoe event can get in for free upon displaying their wristband.

Soul music enthusiasts have a date to seal with Tomar & The FCs at the Continental Club on Saturday, April 27. The musical group Go Machine is slated to open the night. No advanced tickets are being sold for this particular event; the cover charge will be $15 at the entrance.
