Shock and Horror in Austin as Motorcyclist is Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run Incident

AUSTIN, Texas – A horrific tragedy unfolded on the streets of Austin, Texas, in the early hours of Monday, March 18, when a hit-and-run suspect critically injured a motorcyclist while trying to evade law enforcement.

The Initial Collision

The harrowing sequence of events began at approximately 1:46 a.m. Local law enforcement responded to initial reports of a vehicular collision in the 100 block of I-35. Preliminary investigation indicated that a suspect vehicle rammed into a sedan from behind while both were travelling southbound.

The occupant of the sedan opted to follow the hit-and-run vehicle, hoping to capture crucial details. Unfortunately, this pursuit ended in a second hit-and-run incident, further exacerbating the situation and causing life-threatening damage to an innocent motorcyclist.

The Chain of Events

While the victim from the first collision pursued the suspect’s vehicle, the latter struck a motorcyclist in the 8400 block of North I-35, also heading south. Igoring the maimed biker, the suspect fled the scene at a high speed, demonstrating a shocking disregard for human life.

The severely injured motorcyclist was hastily transported to a nearby hospital, where he is currently fighting for his life.

Authorities on The Hunt

Based on eyewitness accounts and initial investigations, the police described the suspect’s vehicle as a two-door Infiniti, likely a G35/G37 model from the years 2013 to 2019. It is believed to be black or gray, and was seen with a unique, star-emblazoned Texas license plate on its rear.

The fugitive driver is described as a Hispanic male, estimated to be around 20 years old, with a thin build and short black hair.

Call to Public for Assistance

The Austin police are urging anyone with pertinent information to step forward and aid their ongoing investigation. Information can be shared anonymously via the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program through their website austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477.

A reward of up to $1000 is being offered for any information that could lead to the perpetrator’s arrest, in an attempt to bring justice to the grave situation.

A City Waits for Justice

As the investigation continues, the people of Austin and the families of the victims anxiously await news of an arrest. This incident serves as a grim reminder of the horrors of hit-and-run incidents and the immense damage they can inflict on innocent lives.
