Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Suspect in Attempted Sexual Assault in NW Austin

Austin, Texas — Incident Overview

After several months of investigation, The Austin Police Department (APD) continues to seek public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an attempted sexual assault incident in northwest Austin. The incident reportedly took place on the night of Saturday, March 30 near TX-45 off Osmarea Drive.

The victim, a female resident of the area, was walking her dog at approximately 9 p.m. when she encountered an unidentified male suspect. The suspect then allegedly exposed himself and attempted to commit sexual assault before fleeing the scene on foot towards Eucalyptus Bend, according to reports from law enforcement.

Suspect Description and Police Efforts

The APD has released a composite sketch of the suspect, described as a black male between the ages of 17 and 25. He is described as relatively shorter in height, about 5’6″ with a thin build.

On the night of the event, the suspect was reported to be wearing a beanie hat and glasses. He was also wearing a light-colored t-shirt and dark basketball shorts. The police department urged anyone with information about the suspect or the incident to come forward to assist in their ongoing investigation.

Public Appeal for Information

To aid in the identification and arrest of the suspect, the APD is urging members of the public to carefully review the provided composite sketch and consider any suspicious individuals fitting the description. Any information related to the suspect’s whereabouts or possible identity could be pivotal in solving the case.
