The official closing on this property took place on October 31, and while the purchase price remains under wraps, it’s certainly a sweet addition to their portfolio.

Now, with its sights set on Austin, AvalonBay is ramping up its multifamily development pipeline. Jennifer Wiebrand, AvalonBay’s Senior Vice President of Development in Texas, mentioned that around a third of the company’s properties are mixed-use. However, multifamily housing remains their top priority.
Wiebrand shared some insights: “We think that the supply predictably clears through the next 12 months and provides the opportunity for some rent growth in 2026. So, we’re looking to take advantage of the pricing opportunities that exist in the market,” she stated, highlighting that both their new developments and existing properties, like the Bee Cave townhomes, are part of their strategy.
