For the first time, the Affordable Art Fair will make its appearance in Austin, Texas. This international event will host its fair from the 16th to 19th of May at the Palmer Events Center, marking a historical milestone for the local art scene.

Fair Offers Access to Local, National, and International Galleries

The event will gather over 60 local, national, and international galleries under one roof, an unprecedented occurrence for Austin. Artworks created by living artists, both famed and on their rise to recognition, will be available for viewing and purchase. The array of masterpieces, complete with pieces ranging only from $100 to $10,000, has been described as the largest in Austin’s history.

With an immensely varied collection of paintings, prints, sculptures, and photographs, the Affordable Art Fair has something to offer for everyone. Featured within an atmosphere described as “relaxed and buzzy,” it provides an approachable platform for art enthusiasts to explore and invest in contemporary art.

Austin was chosen for its demand for affordable contemporary art, according to Cori Teague, Director of Affordable Art Fair Austin. With this event, a new and exciting connection can be made within the local creative scene, satisfying Austin’s appetite for novel cultural experiences and learning opportunities.

The fair is more than just about selling art; it’s about creating an engaging and educative art-buying experience for attendees. Featured Art Galleries at the Fair

Galleries attending the fair include a mix of locally-based organizations and those from other parts of Texas. Austin-based galleries include the Davis Gallery and Framing, representing B. Shawn Cox, the Wally Workman Gallery, presenting the works of America Martin, and Flatbed Press representing Adrian Armstrong. Attendees will explore other notable galleries like the McLennon Pen Co., Dimmitt Gallery, and Sage Studio.

Affordable Art Fair’s Monumental Impact

Since 1999, the Affordable Art Fair has reached over 3.1 million global visitors across multiple cities from New York, London, Brussels to Hong Kong, Melbourne, and Sydney. With the addition of Austin, the fair will also open new doors in Brisbane and Berlin in 2024. The team looks forward to becoming an annual highlight in Austin’s rapidly growing contemporary art scene.
