The Phoenix-based wine café and bar, Postino, is expanding its wings to Austin, Texas. After the successful launching of its first San Antonio location in May 2023, the team is now ready to pop the cork at its first Austin location at 1301 South Lamar Blvd. this summer. The announcement also includes plans for a second outpost in San Antonio and Austin set to open later this year and the next, respectively.

A Taste of Elegance

Despite the declining trend of wine consumption among the Americans over the past few years, wine-based concepts in the food and drink industry are expanding. Postino is a shining example of this paradoxical trend. With its wine and café outposts, Postino offers a sophisticated drinking atmosphere perfect for occasions demanding elegant drinking.

More than 30 Boutique Wines and Texas Craft Beer

Similar to other locations, the new Postino in Austin will serve a rotating list of more than 30 boutique wines and Texas craft beer. During its generous happy hours between opening time and 5 pm, all the wines will be available for just $6 per glass. For those who can’t make it during the happy hour, Monday and Tuesday evenings are set for a special offer. Customers can get a $25 bottle and bruschetta board special deal.

Food with a Mediterranean Flair

In addition to a dozen bruschetta options, Postino also offers paninis, soups, salads, and a wide variety of light bites. True to the menu, the appetizers also have a Mediterranean spin with choices including shrimp scampi, meatballs with goat cheese, and seasonal burrata.

A Unique Atmosphere

Every Postino location boasts of an authentic ambience with interior hallmarks such as canary yellow umbrellas, distinctive roll-up garage doors, and a vintage-inspired interior. Each location is unique with locally sourced mid-century modern furniture and art objects along with custom walnut wine walls.

Moving Forward

With the plans of more openings in the spring and next year, Postino is ready to firmly stamp its presence in the Austin food and drink scene. Lauren Bailey, Postino co-founder and CEO, expressed her excitement over their new locations stating postino’s commitment to becoming part of the local community. “There is so much to love about Austin and its diverse neighborhoods and we are proud to become part of it.”
