Austin, Texas – One Austin-based high school is standing tall, having been listed among the top ranked schools in the United States, according to the 2024 U.S News and World Reports’ annual list. The Liberal Arts and Science Academy (LASA), which is part of the Austin Independent School District (ISD), has been ranked at No. 38 on the list of the nation’s top public high schools.
The Liberal Arts and Science Academy has shown a slight fall in position compared to previous years, ranking at No. 32 last year and No. 34 in 2022. Nonetheless, the school’s impressive achievement affirms its status as an academic powerhouse on the national stage, enabling Austin to uphold its reputation for quality education.
The school has also made waves in the ranking of the nation’s top STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) high schools, where it held the No. 52 position. This also marked a slight decrease (down from No. 34 last year and No. 70 in 2022). Despite the small drop, the school’s repeat presence on this prestigious list showcases the high-quality STEM education the LASA provides.
