The city of Austin is set to welcome another exciting addition to its growing business landscape. Bloom Nutrition, a Los Angeles-based supplement company, has announced its plans to relocate its headquarters to the Texas capital by early 2025. This move comes after the company’s co-founders made the switch to Austin less than a year ago.
Bloom’s CEO and co-founder, Greg LaVecchia, revealed that the decision to relocate was primarily motivated by a desire for closer collaboration with Nutrabolt, a leading supplements company also based in Austin. Earlier this year, Bloom secured a major investment, selling about 30% of the company in a $90 million funding round led by Nutrabolt, known for its C4 Energy drinks and workout supplements.
As part of the relocation process, Bloom has already begun transferring its operations to Nutrabolt’s West Austin headquarters located at 332 Grace Lane, near Bee Caves Road. Erica Tam, Bloom’s vice president of brand, emphasized that this partnership will not only strengthen their market position but also enhance their product offerings in the competitive energy drink space.
This news comes as do-it-yourself fitness and wellness products continue to surge in popularity. In fact, Bloom is currently experiencing significant growth, showcasing an impressive addition of 7,000 retail doors this year. Tam indicated that the company is on a trajectory to hit a total of 20,800 retail locations by the end of 2024. Their products are widely available in major retailers such as Target, Walmart, Costco, Kroger, and many more.
Bloom launched an energy drink just three months ago, securing a six-month exclusive deal with Target. LaVecchia expressed confidence in competing against giants like Red Bull and Monster, especially with both Nutrabolt and Bloom being based in Texas — home to Keurig Dr Pepper Inc., which has a strong presence in the beverage industry.
In addition to energy drinks, Bloom is expanding its product offerings to include items like colostrum and creatine powders. Tam mentioned that Bloom aims to become a recognized name in the beverage sector, anticipating reaching a nine-figure operation next year. With plans to introduce even more flavors, the company is dedicated to staying innovative and responsive to market demand.
LaVecchia pointed out the strategic reasoning behind the partnership with Nutrabolt, noting that while both companies cater to different consumer bases, they share common manufacturers and distribution networks. This aligns perfectly to ensure efficiency while each brand continues to speak to its own distinct audience.
Mari Llewellyn, co-founder of Bloom, has leveraged her strong social media presence, amassing over 1.5 million followers on Instagram, to market Bloom’s products effectively. Llewellyn’s personal health journey has inspired the development of product lines that fill gaps in the market, particularly for female consumers.
Bloom’s future in Austin looks bright, with LaVecchia confirming that all new hires will be based in Texas from 2025 onward. Currently, the company employs around 80 staff members, many of whom are expected to make the move to Austin. As Bloom expands, there are plans for further recruitment, aiming to hire additional personnel and build connections with local talent and service providers.
The relocation to Austin is seen as an exciting new chapter for Bloom Nutrition as it continues to build on its success and enhance its offerings in the supplement and beverage space. With a strong commitment to health and wellness, the company is primed for growth and eager to engage with the local community.
