It all began early Saturday morning, around 6 a.m., when the Austin Fire Department received reports of a possible structure fire at 1807 Corona Dr.. Concerned neighbors noticed smoke rising from the roof of the residence, prompting a swift call to 911. Fire crews arrived quickly, ready to tackle the situation head-on.
Upon entering the home, firefighters made the critical discovery of an attic fire. Thanks to their quick response and expertise, the fire was fully extinguished by 6:37 a.m. Fortunately, in this incident, there were no injuries reported to either the civilians in the home or the courageous firefighters who bravely battled the flames. If that wasn’t enough excitement for one day, the Austin Travis County EMS received another call at 3:24 p.m. regarding a vehicle recovery incident. This time, the scene was set at the 11300 Block of FM 812 where a single-vehicle rollover collision had occurred.
This incident involved two adults and two children, underscoring the importance of having trained rescue teams on standby. Emergency services, including the Travis County Fire Rescue, were on the scene swiftly to provide aid. In this case, two adults were transported with critical injuries, while two children required transportation as well, but thankfully, their injuries were described as serious but non-life-threatening.

Earlier in the week, on Tuesday morning, another fire incident unfolded at the South Village Apartments located on the I-35 frontage road.
