Austin, Texas – An Extravaganza of Flavors
The Hot Luck Fest, a significant food festival in Austin, Texas, is back to tantalize the taste buds of food enthusiasts once more. This year, the festival will take place over the Memorial Day weekend and is set to bring a new flavor twist with a pop-up from the acclaimed New Orleans restaurant, Turkey and the Wolf.
The festival, celebrated for its combination of parties, sip-and-strolls, concerts, and a grand outdoor live-fire cooking event, is bound to attract local and international food connoisseurs alike.
Kick-off with the Welcome Party
The culinary carnival will begin on Thursday, May 23, with a welcome party exclusive to the holders of Whole Enchilada passes (all-inclusive tickets).
The party will highlight two exemplary Austin taco spots: Nixta Taqueria and Cuantos Tacos. Offering luscious sweets for the evening will be Texas-Asian bakery OMG Squee.
Sip-and-Stroll with a Twist
Friday, May 24, introduces festival-goers to Hot Luck’s customary sip-and-stroll at the Fair Market. This year, the chefs are gearing up to create tantalizing dishes inspired by supper club menus, bringing a contemporary touch to the tradition.
Acclaimed NOLA Restaurant, Turkey and the Wolf’s Pop-Up
On Saturday, May 24, food lovers are in for a treat with the Turkey and the Wolf pop-up event. Co-owner and chef, Mason Hereford, will delight guests with his exquisite sandwiches.
Signature Event – Al Fuego
The evening of Saturday, May 24, unfolds with Hot Luck’s signature event, the Al Fuego, held at the Wild Onion Ranch in Manchaca, Texas.
Participating chefs are expected to display their culinary creativity using fire and smoke. The event’s non-Austin chef lineup features leading professionals from world-renowned restaurants, promising a feast for the senses.
Final Food Event – Camp Sunnyside
On Sunday, May 26, Camp Sunnyside, embodying a summer camp and brunch theme, promises a refreshing close to the Hot Luck Festival.
Distinguished chefs outside of Austin, including Ashley Christensen from Raleigh Southern restaurant Poole’s Diner, Jeremy Sewall of Boston seafood restaurant Row 34, and pastry chef Paola Velez will be participating.
Whole Enchilada Tickets and Charitable Contributions
The Whole Enchilada tickets are currently priced at $595 for adults. A part of the event’s proceeds will benefit the restaurant industry-focused nonprofit, Southern Smoke Foundation.
