Small Company Category: Elaine Garza

In the Small Company Category, Elaine Garza was celebrated for her achievements as the founder of Giant Noise Partners LLC. With a rich background in publishing, having worked for notable magazines like HarperCollins, Spin, and Billboard, Garza brings a wealth of experience to her public relations and communications firm.

Medium Company Category: John Joyoprayitno

John Joyoprayitno was honored in the Medium Company Category as the co-founder and CEO of Alafair Biosciences Inc. His journey as an entrepreneur spans various industries and showcases his ability to innovate within the medical device field since the company’s inception in 2011.

Large Company Category: Michael Osborne

Michael Osborne, who took the reins at Appriss Retail in March 2023, is this year’s winner in the Large Company Category. His quick progress in turning around the company has been noteworthy, demonstrating strong leadership skills and a clear vision.

Extra Large Company Category: Bret Biggart

Market Leader Category: Julie Mueller

Julie Mueller, president of the Universal Technical Institute’s Austin campus, took home the award in the Market Leader Category. Her unique ability to connect with people has helped her build trust and foster collaboration within her organization.

Public Company Category: Pat Goepel

Recognized in the Public Company Category, Pat Goepel is praised for his forward-thinking leadership style. He motivates his employees to embrace change, which is crucial in the ever-evolving tech landscape of payroll and HR services.

Startup Category: Kevin Gast

Kevin Gast was awarded in the Startup Category for his innovative work with VVater, which aims to provide clean water solutions worldwide sustainably and cost-effectively. His vision addresses a critical issue faced by many communities.

Nonprofit Category: Michael Torres

Lastly, Michael Torres has been honored in the Nonprofit Category. Having started as a bookkeeper at the Center for Child Protection 31 years ago, he now leads the organization, showcasing dedication and resilience in the nonprofit sector.

This year, judges reviewed over 80 nominees to select the winners, highlighting the quality and depth of leadership present in Austin’s business community.
