Austin Man Charged in Connection with Prostitution Operation
AUSTIN — An owner of multiple massage parlors in the city has been charged with serious crimes related to prostitution and possible human trafficking. On Friday, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) arrested 53-year-old Tuyen Thi Nguyen after receiving a tip in September regarding his operations. He now faces charges of aggravated promotion of prostitution, which is classified as a first-degree felony in Texas.
Details of the Allegations
According to a report from Travis County, Nguyen is accused of owning and managing seven massage businesses in Austin that operate as a prostitution enterprise. These establishments allegedly employ one to two adult victims at each location who perform sex acts for money. The official affidavit revealed that about 13 adult victims have been identified as part of this operation, affirming allegations that the business is built on the exploitation of individuals.
The Investigation
The investigation into Nguyen’s activities had been ongoing prior to the tip. He was already a prime suspect in a larger human trafficking inquiry led by the DPS. The affidavit outlines that Nguyen is not just the mastermind behind these operations but has actively invested in, financed, and had full control over various illicit massage businesses.

KXAN Austin reported previously on the shutdown of two massage parlors in Austin linked to human trafficking activities. One notable parlor, Bibo Spa, located at 2301 W. Parmer Lane, was confirmed to be owned by Nguyen. This establishment was closed after investigators found it listed in online ads with sexual content. Reviews posted by patrons pointed to the availability of sexual services, drawing further scrutiny from regulators.
Search Findings
After investigating Bibo Spa, agents cited the discovery of numerous pieces of evidence supporting claims of illegal activities. Items found during the search included lubrication, condoms, video surveillance equipment, and a substantial amount of cash. These findings have strengthened the case against Nguyen and raised more concerns about the operations of his businesses.

As of now, Nguyen has not been taken into custody at the Travis County jail. The authorities are actively pursuing the matter, and his history of ownership and management of the massage parlors places him at the center of a troubling pattern of human trafficking and exploitation.
