Austin Prevails in New List of America’s Top 15 Best Cities

Austin, the vibrant Texan city, has made its mark in a prestigious list by Canada-based Resonance Consultancy ranking America’s top 15 best cities. Previously recognized for its thriving cultural scene and burgeoning economy, Austin has now earned wider recognition as a locale of notable prosperity and livability.

America’s Best Cities Report

The annual report – titled “America’s Best Cities” – evaluates the primary cities in America with metropolitan populations exceeding 500,000. The assessment is based on various factors that contribute to a city’s appeal, such as place quality, cultural diversity, and economic prosperity. Austin, with a solid ranking at number 15 on the list, shone among the top US cities such as New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles that claimed the top three positions respectively.

Austin’s Noteworthy Accomplishments

The report heaps praise on Austin for its unique blend of a pioneering spirit and a progressive university town’s livability that has transformed it into an attractive destination for entrepreneurs and investors alike. The spotlight was also on the University of Texas at Austin and the diverse array of major employers that have established their presence in the city, including immense corporations like Oracle, Tesla, BAE Systems, and Samsung USA, which recently announced a $40-billion investment in nearby Taylor, Texas.

A Thriving Music Scene and a Soaring Skyline

Apart from its economic potential, the city’s vibrant music scene and expanding skyline were significant contributors to its high ranking. The report highlighted the upcoming high-rises like the Waterline and Wilson Tower, set to transform the city’s skyline drastically. Outside Austin, Houston (No. 10) was the sole Texas city to appear in the top 10 best U.S. cities.

The Texans on the List

Other Texan cities such as Dallas (No. 16) and San Antonio (No. 32) also made it to the national list. However, cities like El Paso (No. 83) and McAllen (No. 88) were listed outside of the top 50.
