What’s This Study All About?

The study was conducted by WalletHub, and it looked at more than 800 higher education institutions across the nation using 30 important criteria. These criteria can be grouped into seven categories such as student-faculty ratio, graduation rates, and post-attendance median salary. According to Chip Lupo, a WalletHub analyst, universities tend to score better because they offer extensive graduate programs and more on-campus opportunities. They also usually have higher earnings post-graduation.

Texas Institutions in the National Spotlight

Alright, let’s break down what this means for Texas colleges. First off, the top spot in Texas went to none other than Rice University! Located in Houston, Rice ranked as the sixth-best overall higher education institution in the country 😮. Notably, it also boasts the fifth-highest graduation rate and scored in the 99th percentile. That makes it stand out as one of just 12 institutions nationwide that achieved such high scores.

In a proud moment for Texan education, Rice was also recognized for having exceptional education outcomes, coming just behind Duke University in North Carolina. So, clearly, the competition is heating up!
