AUSTIN, Texas – Severe storms have made their way through Central Texas today. A severe thunderstorm watch has been announced for much of the region valid until late evening.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued the following: a severe thunderstorm watch for San Saba and Mason counties until 11 pm tonight. Concurrently, a flood warning is in effect for Lampasas County, Bell County, and Milam County until Friday and Saturday respectively.
Potential hazards include hail, damaging winds, lightning, and heavy rain. The conditions are also ripe for the formation of isolated tornadoes. In response to the severe weather conditions, the Storm Prediction Center has raised the region’s risk to a level three severe weather day.
