AUSTIN, Texas – Exciting news is on the horizon for the University of Texas softball program! Head coach Mike White and his dedicated coaching staff announced on Wednesday that they have signed seven standout student-athletes to Athletic Scholarship Agreements (ASA). These talented players are set to join the Longhorns for the upcoming 2026 season, marking the team’s second year in the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
Coach White expressed his enthusiasm for this incoming class, stating, “Our incoming class for the 2026 season is one that, as a coaching staff, we are very excited about. With four members of this class residing in Texas, it is loaded with talent at all the key positions and will ensure that Texas Softball will continue to be one of the country’s top programs.”
The seven athletes who have committed to the Longhorns bring a wealth of experience and accolades from their high schools and travel ball teams. Here’s a closer look at each promising player:
Hailing from Melissa, Texas, Caigan Crabtree made a name for herself not only in softball but also on the basketball court. She has led her travel ball team to multiple national championships and received numerous honors along the way. Coach White remarked, “Caigan Crabtree is another multi-sport star… her home run power is remindful of Reese Atwood.”
Alisa Sneed, from Conroe, Texas, is an impressive two-time PGF All-American. Not only has she shown her prowess in softball, but she’s also excelled in basketball and track. Coach White praised her saying, “Alisa Sneed is a multiple sport star…she is a dynamo on defense in the outfield.”
From Tinley Park, Illinois, MaTaia Lawson has made quite an impact on the travel ball scene, gaining individual recognition along the way. With her mix of power and speed, she brings versatility to the Longhorns. Coach White added, “MaTaia Lawson continues our pipeline to the Midwest… she reminds many Texas fans of Shannon Rhodes.”
Jaycie Nichols comes from Durant, Texas, where she has achieved tremendous success as a four-time fastpitch state champion. With a stellar batting average and multiple accolades, she is poised to make a difference. Coach White highlighted Nichols by stating, “When those attributes are combined with her softball IQ, she has the potential to follow in the footsteps of Janae Jefferson and Mia Scott.”
Coahoma, Texas is home to Hannah Wells, a five-time All-American and recognized pitcher in the nation. Holding multiple honors and a perfect record, she brings great skills to the mound. Coach White couldn’t contain his excitement, saying, “Hannah Wells is a nationally ranked top 10 player… has a variety of pitches in her arsenal.”
From Forney, Texas, Aundrea (Drea) Wilson is a versatile athlete known for her speed and power. She’s been a vital player in many championships throughout her career. Coach White noted, “Drea Wilson is a North Forney High School product and is a national softball champion… she can play anywhere in the field.”
Last but not least, Anne Wallace from Logan, Utah, brings a strong presence to the field. She set records back home and is set to be a significant contributor to the Longhorns. Coach White added, “Anne Wallace hails from Utah and brings a physical presence to the field and has a big bat.”
