Bon Jovi Premieres Career-Spanning Docuseries at SXSW 2024

Austin, Texas – Moving more than half-way on a “Prayer”

Rock legends Bon Jovi has created a special milestone in their illustrious career spanning four decades at the South By Southwest (SXSW) 2024 Festival. The band premiered their latest docuseries, “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story,” in the heart of Austin, Texas at the Paramount Theatre on Thursday.

Celebrating the past, pushing towards the future

The docuseries directed by Gotham Chopra, offering a raw, honest, and personal portrayal of Bon Jovi’s journey, was received with grand applause. It is no mere autobiographical piece but weaves a tale of the band’s ups and downs tempered by their timeless hits.

Frontman Jon Bon Jovi expressed sincere gratitude, “This is me saying thank you to God for the opportunity. We’re able to celebrate the past and the future on the same day, with one eye looking back on these 40 years and the other on the release of our new single.”

The band’s keyboardist, David Bryan, revealed the candid essence of the docuseries, “We weren’t afraid to say everything. If it was just a fluff piece, nobody would want to see that.”

A unique premiere for a unique city

The band chose SXSW specifically for the distinct blend of music, movies, and tech that the festival and the city itself embraces. Visibly impressed, Jon Bon Jovi said, “I like Austin, I like the eclectic feel of what this city is and this festival is.”

Onward to “Forever”

Alongside the premiere, Bon Jovi released their brand new single “Legendary” on Thursday morning. The song is part of their forthcoming album “Forever,” scheduled for release in June. According to the band’s bassist, Hugh McDonald, fans may have to wait until next year for a tour.

“40 more years, baby,” Bryan confidently echoed the sentiments of both his fellow band members and fans around the world. There appears to be no stopping Bon Jovi as they charge ahead with their brand new release and memories of their incredible journey thus far.
