Refunds Offered as Childish Gambino Cancels North American Tour Due to Health Issues

AUSTIN, Texas — Refunds Now Available After Childish Gambino Cancels Tour

Fans of Childish Gambino are feeling the disappointment this week as Donald Glover announced he is canceling the remainder of his North American tour. The highly anticipated show was set to take place at the Moody Center in September, but Glover had to postpone his Austin performance shortly before due to an unexplained illness.

Understanding the Situation

In a recent update shared on social media, Glover shed some light on the health issue that has now forced the cancellation of his “The New World Tour.” He mentioned that after performing in New Orleans, he went to a hospital in Houston to address an ailment that had become clear to him at that time. Following thorough tests, he stated, “It became clear … after more tests, I could not perform the rest of the US tour in the time asked.”

Glover did not disclose many details about the specific illness, but he mentioned that he has surgery scheduled and will need ample time to recuperate. This news is, understandably, heart-wrenching for his fans who were looking forward to his performance.

Refund Information

As a result of the cancellation, those who purchased tickets for the tour are now eligible for refunds. Fans can anticipate receiving an email from Ticketmaster with further instructions on how to process their refunds. According to the Moody Center website, it typically takes about 30 days for Ticketmaster to complete the refund process.

For anyone experiencing issues, they can reach out to Ticketmaster support either online or by calling 800-653-8000 for assistance. It’s important to keep an eye on your email for upcoming messages regarding the refund.

Tour Cancellation Details

Glover’s recent tour was meant to be his first since 2019, with many shows scheduled across major cities in North America before extending the tour to Europe, New Zealand, and Australia in 2025. Sadly, only 19 shows were completed before his health issues affected more than 30 planned performances.

Prior to this, Glover had also canceled a show in Connecticut scheduled for August. This cancellation was due to technical difficulties that arose during the planning of the event.

Looking Ahead

For fans and those who were excited to see Glover perform, this news brings mixed feelings of worry for his health and sadness for the loss of a live event. As he takes the necessary time to recover, fans will undoubtedly be hoping for his quick return to health and the stage.

As more updates become available, fans are encouraged to stay connected to Glover’s social media channels and Ticketmaster for notifications regarding future events stretching into 2025.
