USPS has provided an address for you to send your feedback, ensuring that your opinions will be weighed thoughtfully. But don’t worry: the university has plans to replace the closed West Mall office with a postal contract unit that is expected to be up and running by spring 2023.
Meanwhile, if you typically relied on the West Mall office for services, like P.O. boxes or passports, take note. Document Solutions, a service located at the School of Social Work, is stepping in to fill the gap. While they will provide various postal services, they currently do not offer P.O. boxes, passports, or money orders, which has some folks concerned. Those who used the West Mall location found it to be super accessible and convenient, especially for passport services.
And speaking of changes, recent data shows that many residents in big cities like Austin, Miami, and Houston are packing their bags and moving to smaller, more affordable areas. Rising living costs have pushed folks to seek out alternatives away from bustling urban centers.
