This change comes hot on the heels of a major acquisition, with the final sale of Chuy’s to Darden Restaurants Inc. being completed on October 11, 2023.

According to reports, the acquisition was finalized after Chuy’s stockholders voted in favor of the deal a day earlier. Darden Restaurants is a well-known operator that boasts a portfolio of popular dining spots, including Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, Eddie V’s, and Bahama Breeze. With this sale worth approximately $605 million, many in Austin have taken notice.
“We are excited about the opportunity to join the Darden family and its portfolio of well-respected brands,” said Chuy’s CEO, President and Chairman Steven Hislop. He expressed confidence in Darden’s similar values and focus on team member culture.
