AUSTIN – Fatal Crash Triggers Traffic Snarl

A horrific crash on the morning of Wednesday shut down Farm to Market Road 969 in both directions near State Highway 130 in the Austin region. The catastrophic collision involving four vehicles left 1 person dead and 4 others injured. The crash led to traffic disruptions as law enforcement officials arrived on the scene. One westbound lane was reopened around 9:50 am, several hours after the incident.

Four-Vehicle Collision Claims a Life

In a recent update by the Texas Department of Public Safety, it was highlighted that the incident on FM 969 was a result of a four-vehicle collision, which claimed one life. Troopers continued their investigations on the scene throughout the morning as they attempted to unravel the series of events leading up to the fatal crash.

Austin-Travis County EMS Response

The Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services were quick to respond to the crash, which they reported as a serious “pin-in collision” involving a total of 5 persons. On their arrival at the scene, officials confirmed the death of one adult, while the other four individuals were transported promptly to Dell Seton with non-life-threatening injuries.

TxDOT Announcement

Soon after the incident, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) made their first post about the crash and the subsequent road closure at 7:28 a.m. updating the public and offering alternate route advice. By 10 a.m, one westbound lane was reopened while all other lanes remained closed for investigation purposes.
