This fall, it is embarked on an expansion journey, bringing a new casual cafe, coined Hissy Fit, to the northwest section of Austin in the Arboretum at 9761 Great Hills Trail. Co-owners Chef James Robert and Keith House have described this venture as Fixe’s “sassy little sister,” echoing the playful, light-hearted nature of the new establishment.
Hissy Fit is designed to cater to a wide range of gastronomies, right from the break of dawn till late in the evening, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even brunch. A trip to the café promises an assortment of mouthwatering baked goods including their famed biscuits and cinnamon rolls which are an experience to be had. Additionally, the menu will comprise a variety of sandwiches, salads, and bowls to cater to patrons who desire more savory offerings.
Dining out is never complete without a befitting drink to wash down the meal. To this utmost priority, Hissy Fit hasn’t turned a blind eye. Alongside the food items, the café will also provide a drinks menu to accommodate all manner of tastes. Patrons can expect coffee, espresso, house-pressed juices, and a selection of cocktails. All items will be available for dine-in or takeout, underscoring Hissy Fit’s focus on convenience and customer satisfaction.
Established in 2014, Fixe has already made a remarkable mark in Austin’s culinary scene with their upscale Southern-style dining and unique ambiance. Its indoor space, designed to replicate an alfresco patio, provides a refreshing dining environment. In 2018, the restaurant further expanded its footprint into Fort Worth, demonstrating their success and popularity among Southern food enthusiasts.
Now, Fixe is taking the bold step of introducing an entirely new concept with Hissy Fit. Still grounded in their Southern roots, the café promises a more laid-back, casual dining experience. Whether for breakfast with a hot steaming cup of coffee, a leisurely lunch, a relaxed dinner, or a brunch meeting with friends and family, Hissy Fit is primed to become the next go-to destination in Austin’s dynamic restaurant scene. It is anticipated that the restaurant will live up to its name by creating an unforgettable dining experience for all its patrons.
Hissy Fit is conveniently located at 9761 Great Hills Trail in the Arboretum in northwest Austin and is set to open this fall. Make sure to mark your calendars to be among the first to experience this exciting new foodie must-visit destination in the city!
