Georgetown Set to Welcome New H-E-B Grocery Store in Summer 2024

Georgetown Welcomes New H-E-B Grocery Store

Georgetown, Texas, is gearing up for the arrival of a brand-new H-E-B grocery store. On Tuesday, H-E-B announced the start of construction on its third location in this Austin suburb. The new store will be located at Ronald Reagan Boulevard and Ranch Road 2338 and is set to open its doors in the summer of 2024.

A Big Space for a Much-Loved Store

The upcoming H-E-B will span an impressive 112,000 square feet. This size is quite standard for the chain, which is known for providing a wide range of groceries and household items. Shoppers can expect to see familiar features such as a bakery, deli, and a section dedicated to beer and wine. Additionally, there will be a Sushiya counter for sushi lovers.

For residents who may need pharmacy services, the new store will include pharmacy pick-up spaces. It will also offer a convenient Curbside area with dedicated parking for easy shopping. To top it off, there will be a fuel station and a car wash on site, making life a little easier for busy shoppers.

Community Commitment

H-E-B has a long-standing presence in Georgetown, having served local residents for over 55 years. Heidi Anderson, Senior Director of Public Affairs at H-E-B, expressed pride in the company’s history in the community. She stated, “We’re proud to have served the Georgetown community for over 55 years and look forward to continuing to bring our customers the very best that H-E-B has to offer.”

In honor of the upcoming store, H-E-B also announced donations to support local organizations. The company will contribute $5,000 each to four local nonprofits: the Georgetown ISD Education Foundation, Brookwood in Georgetown, The Caring Place, and the Boys & Girls Club of Georgetown. These contributions underline H-E-B’s commitment to giving back to the communities it serves.

Why Georgetown?

Georgetown’s booming growth storyline makes it a prime location for additional H-E-B stores. The city, located just 30 miles north of Austin, was recently named the fastest-growing city in the U.S. for three consecutive years (2022, 2023, and 2024) among cities with populations over 50,000, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau. This rapid expansion indicates a growing need for more retail options, including grocery stores.

H-E-B’s Expansion Plans

Georgetown is not the only city where H-E-B is making moves. The company plans to open several new locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area this year, marking a significant return to that region, which has been without H-E-B stores for decades. Currently, H-E-B operates over 435 stores across Texas and Mexico, and the company’s expansion signifies its ongoing commitment to meet the needs of customers in various communities.

Looking Forward

As Georgetown prepares for the new H-E-B, local residents can look forward to having another convenient shopping option that promotes community involvement and supports local initiatives. As construction commences, anticipation builds for what this beloved grocery chain will bring to the area in the months ahead.
