Del Valle, Texas — Late Monday night, emergency response teams from the Austin Fire Department (AFD) rushed to the scene of a serious car accident that occurred on State Highway 71. The accident took place at the intersection of the eastbound SH 71 service road and westbound FM 973 around 10:54 p.m..
Fire crews from the AFD promptly arrived to handle the situation. They worked quickly and efficiently to rescue the individual who was pinned inside their vehicle. Firefighters used specialized equipment to extricate the person, while also providing medical assistance to others who were injured in the accident.
By 11:00 p.m., the team reported that the trapped individual had been successfully freed from the wreckage. First responders then transferred both the freed person and another injured individual to EMS medics awaiting on-site for evaluation and potential transport to a nearby hospital.
