Longhorns Dominate Arkansas-Pine Bluff with Record-Breaking 121-57 Victory

AUSTIN, Texas — Longhorns Show No Mercy in Dominating Win Over Arkansas-Pine Bluff

What a thrilling afternoon it was in Austin, Texas, as the Longhorns basketball team put on a show for their home crowd at the Moody Center. The atmosphere was electric with fans buzzing, and boy, did the Longhorns deliver! In a game that will be talked about for quite some time, Texas soared to a stunning 121-57 victory against the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions this past Sunday.

Fresh Faces Shine Bright

Freshman forward Nic Codie stole the spotlight with a remarkable performance, registering a career-high 20 points in just 16 minutes of play. Codie showed impressive accuracy, making 8-of-10 shots from the field, including both of his three-point attempts. It’s safe to say he really made the most out of his time on the court!

But Codie wasn’t the only standout. Graduate guard Julian Larry also had quite the day, contributing with 11 points and a jaw-dropping career-high of 13 assists. He made sure his teammates were involved, and his ability to create scoring opportunities didn’t go unnoticed.

Team Effort Results in Scoring Bonanza

In total, an impressive eight Longhorns scored in double figures. Junior Jordan Pope added 17 points, sinking five three-pointers in just 21 minutes, which is no small feat. Other key contributions came from junior Chendall Weaver, who added 14 points and eight rebounds.

Graduate players Kadin Shedrick and Arthur Kaluma also chipped in with 14 points and 13 points, respectively, emphasizing the depth and versatility this team possesses. Even junior Tramon Mark and sophomore Devon Pryor scored a solid 10 points each, further solidifying the team’s offensive dominance.

Setting Records and Breaking Barriers

The scoring frenzy not only delighted the fans but also etched its name in the history books. The 121 points was the eighth-most in the program’s history and the highest total since a 122-point feat back in 2003. Moreover, the 64-point margin of victory ranks as the ninth largest for the Longhorns, reminding everyone just how powerful this year’s squad can be.

Throughout the game, Texas demonstrated impressive shooting, hitting 44 of 70 field goals, translating to a whopping 62.9% accuracy. They also showcased their long-range shooting, making 17 three-pointers at a striking 56.7% rate. This effort came just a hair short of breaking the school record for threes in a game.

Looking Ahead

As the excitement from this win lingers, the Longhorns are looking ahead to their next matchup against New Orleans on Thursday, December 19, at 7 p.m. CT. Another chance for fans to see their team shine!

What a fantastic team performance this was! It surely gives Texas fans plenty to cheer about as we move deeper into the season. The Longhorns are carving their path, and if this game is any indication, there are more thrilling games ahead!
