Fast-Casual Korean Delight

First up, we have a brand-new fast-casual Korean restaurant that hit the scene on October 1. Owned and operated by the talented chef Kijung Bang, this cozy eatery is all about blending traditional, modern, and fusion Korean dishes to tantalize your taste buds. Dive into deliciously hearty soegogi muguk (that’s beef and radish soup for those not in the know), juicy bulgogi, and a quirky take on ramen with their birria ramen featuring Shin noodles. And don’t miss out on the Korean fried chicken sandwiches — they are genuinely a must-try!

Located at 8820 Burnet Road, Suite 502 in North Shoal Creek, this spot offers both indoor dining and online options for takeout and delivery. It’s the perfect place for a laid-back meal with friends without the frills.

Korean Barbecue Arrival

Next, let’s grill through to a sizzling new Korean barbecue chain that opened its doors in Pflugerville on October 17! This is the very first location in the Austin area for the popular California-based chain, and they are bringing the heat with a wide selection of tender meats like rib-eye, marinated spicy pork ribs, and even honey chicken.

What’s so exciting? You get to be the grill master at your own table! Fire up your evening with some exciting choices of fresh seafood dishes like Cajun shrimp and calamari, along with build-your-own-Korean-ramyun that lets your inner chef shine. This fab spot is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and is located at Stone Hill Town Center, 18900 Limestone Commercial Drive, Pflugerville. Indoor dining and online ordering are readily available, so you can grab a tasty meal to go!

Hand-Roll Heaven

Here’s a delicious surprise for sushi lovers! Controversial chef Paul Qui is back on the scene with a swanky new hand roll spot that opened up on October 23. Nestled within the rooftop venue Summit, this joint has a streamlined menu of temaki sets featuring delights like the Top Roe caviar and Chef with crunchy tuna and shrimp tempura. You can also customize your own hand rolls — talk about a personalized experience!

With only twelve counter seats, seating is snug and adds to the charm. Pair your hand rolls with some delicious appetizers like house-made potato chips dipped in caviar, all while enjoying fine Japanese whiskys and highballs. It’s cozy and intimate! This hand roll haven operates from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and till 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays at 120 West Fifth Street, Downtown. Don’t forget to make a reservation!

Revamped Brasserie at W Austin

Last but definitely not least, the W Austin unveiled a fresh American-French-Texan brasserie on October 27 as part of a significant hotel renovation. The new eatery, which replaces the previous Trace restaurant, is ready to wow diners with dishes crafted by chef de cuisine Johnny Ray Stinebaugh.

Expect a delightful menu showcasing duck confit with root vegetables, a scrumptious Texas Gulf blue crab Benedict served with griddled corn cakes, and the unique brisket monsieur. Wash it down with exquisite cocktails like the spritzy Birds Nest or a fine selection of wine and beer.

This stylish brasserie is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and until 10:30 p.m. on weekends. You can find it at W Austin, 200 Lavaca Street, Downtown, with both indoor and outdoor dining options available. Make sure to grab a reservation!
