As one of the featured artists, McCollum continues to rise in the music scene with recent releases and a unique sound inspired by country legends. His latest album, ‘Never Enough,’ along with new singles, showcases his talent as he prepares to celebrate his 32nd birthday with a concert alongside George Strait in June.
Conroe, Texas, is buzzing with excitement as the country music scene gets ready to shine during the upcoming inauguration of Donald Trump, who will be stepping in as the 47th president of the United States on January 20. The Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee has unveiled its lineup of artists, and one of the most exciting names is none other than local country star Parker McCollum.
Originally hailing from Conroe, which is just north of Houston, McCollum has been making waves ever since he decided to chase his dream of a music career. After graduating high school, he packed his bags and moved to Austin, Texas, where he started recording music that resonates deeply with his fans.
Parker’s big break came in 2012 when he recorded his debut EP, titled “A Red Town View”, right in the heart of Austin. Fast forward to 2015, and he dropped his first full album, “The Limestone Creek,” which was also recorded in South Austin. His music journey took a new turn during the COVID-19 pandemic when he made the bold decision to move to Nashville. This new chapter allowed him to focus on his craft, resulting in the release of three studio albums: “Probably Wrong” (2017), “Gold Chain Cowboy” (2021), and the latest, “Never Enough” (2023).
As for his latest work, “Never Enough” features the hit single “Handle on You”, which has already picked up quite a following. Not content to rest on his laurels, McCollum is also stirring up excitement with his new track “What Kinda Man.” This single premiered on radio stations and playlists on September 13, and McCollum has expressed that it diverges from the modern commercial country sound that often dominates the airwaves.
McCollum draws inspiration from iconic country artists such as Willie Nelson, Chris Stapleton, Waylon Jennings, and Dolly Parton. His music emphasizes a unique sonic identity and authentic storytelling, something he holds dear in his songwriting process. The creation of “What Kinda Man” was no small feat; it took years of crafting melodies and lyrics often rooted in his personal experiences.
If you are eager to catch him live, you’re in luck! McCollum is set to perform at the Commander-in-Chief Ball during the inauguration festivities, showcasing his talents to an audience filled with supporters. Additionally, mark your calendars for June 15, as he will be sharing the stage with George Strait at Kyle Field for a concert event that also celebrates his 32nd birthday!
Currently, Parker resides in New Braunfels, Texas, with his lovely wife, Hallie Ray. The couple is expecting a child later this year, adding even more joy to their lives. As he continues to grow as an artist and a family man, McCollum is steadfast in his belief that country music should reflect genuine storytelling and respect its roots.
With Parker McCollum’s upcoming performance during the inauguration and his continual evolution in the world of music, there’s no doubt that he is a talent worth watching. As he embarks on this new musical journey, fans in Conroe and beyond are in for a treat!
