Unveiling the Roots of Parker Woodland: Music with a Purpose

Austin, Texas – Austin’s homegrown talent, rock trio Parker Woodland, announces the release of their debut album, There’s No Such Thing as Time. The band, known for their punk-pop melange and activism-infused music, is set to launch the album on Friday, September 6 under Flak Records.

Debut Album Release and Events

The album infuses elements of punk, pop, and psychedelic ambiance, creating a series of anthems addressing social justice issues and personal resilience. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the band has organized several events in Austin, including a vinyl listening party on September 3, an in-store performance at a local record store on September 6, followed by an album release show at Mohawk Indoors later in the evening.

Parker Woodland Day Honored By Austin City Council

In recognition of their commendable work and music industry contributions, the Austin City Council will declare September 12 as Parker Woodland Day, celebrating the band’s dedication to their community.

Unearthing The Band’s Roots

The band was rooted on the crossroads of Parker Lane and Woodland Avenue in Austin. The core members, Erin Walter on vocals and bass, Andrew Solin on guitar, and Keri Cinquina on drums, formed the band five years back. Waltzer, driven by her passion for community and social justice issues, united with Cinquina, making a strong rhythm section, later adding Solin’s exceptional guitar skills and songwriting talents.

The Band’s Rise in the Indie Music Scene

Parker Woodland quickly gained prominence in the Austin indie music scene and received positive reviews and features in local publications, becoming known for their socially aware lyrics and vibrant performances. They’ve performed at major events like SXSW and Peace Fest, sharing stages with artists like Willie Nelson and notable local bands.

“This is a record for anybody who needs joy,” drummer Keri Cinquina proudly claimed. Walter following up with, “A sense of community is one of our greatest achievements in our live shows and our music.” They aim to inspire and include their fans in their performances, creating a sense of belonging and acceptance.

The Album: A Step Forward for Parker Woodland

Produced by Brent Baldwin and recorded at Matt Parmenter’s Ice Cream Factory Studio, the album includes tracks touching on critical issues like climate change and trans rights, while also instilling hope and positivity. It’s a marked milestone in Parker Woodland’s musical journey.
