Patel Brothers to Launch First Grocery Store in Austin Metro Area, Catering to Local Indian Community

Patel Brothers Set to Open First Store in Austin Metro

Big news for grocery shoppers in Austin! The delightful Patel Brothers, a well-loved Indian grocery chain, is ready to make its debut in the Austin metro area. That’s right! Folks in Cedar Park and Leander will soon have access to exotic spices, fresh produce, and an array of favorite Indian snacks thanks to this exciting new venture.

Location, Location, Location!

Patel Brothers has signed a 10-year lease for almost 21,000 square feet at Lakeline Plaza, specifically at 11066 Pecan Park Blvd. This was once home to a Bed Bath and Beyond store that has unfortunately shut its doors. The space will be transformed to create a wonderful market experience for all.

Real estate broker, Michael Noteboom, who worked alongside Davis Paone on this venture, noted that the team has been in discussions with Patel Brothers for a whopping three years! That’s dedication! They swiftly leaped at the opportunity when Bed Bath and Beyond filed for bankruptcy last year, leaving behind a prime retail spot.

The Community Connection

But why here, you might wonder? Well, the choice of this specific location is tied to the vibrant demographics of the area. Cedar Park and Leander boast sizeable Indian communities, making it a perfect spot for Patel Brothers to serve the local population with the products they crave. As they put it, it’s all about “bringing the flavors of India closer to home.”

Future Expansion Plans

But wait, there’s more! The grocer has big plans! They aren’t stopping at just this single store. Patel Brothers already has their eyes set on expanding into South Austin and Northeast Austin in the future. Talks about these potential expansions will, of course, come after the celebration of the first store opening, which is projected to happen in the next six to twelve months.

Space for More

And it doesn’t stop here! There’s even more retail space in Lakeline Plaza waiting to be filled. After Patel Brothers moves in, nearly 14,000 square feet will still be available. The broker representing the landlord, Cole Brodhead, mentioned that they are close to finalizing a lease agreement with a national retailer for this additional space. Exciting times for Cedar Park!

A Growing Market

It’s not just Patel Brothers gearing up for growth in Austin. Another Indian grocery store, Desi Brothers, is also diving into the local scene. They have already signed a lease for a substantial 48,000-square-foot store in Round Rock, along with plans for another location in Leander that will feature a restaurant. This brings their number of stores in the Austin metro area to an impressive four!

Conclusion: A Flavorful Future

As Austin continues to flourish, the culinary landscape is becoming ever more diverse and exciting. The entry of Patel Brothers, along with the expansion of other specialty grocers, is sure to spice up shopping trips for many in the metro area. So, get ready to grab your shopping bags because plenty of deliciousness is on its way!

Stay tuned as the grand opening approaches – we can’t wait to fill our carts with all the unique offerings!
