June 2024: Which Local Restaurants in Austin Received a Perfect Health Inspection Score?

Austin Restaurant Health Inspection Scores for June 2024

Food safety is an important issue that affects all residents and visitors in Austin. In June of 2024, Austin Public Health conducted an inspection of 399 local restaurants and provided them with health scores. The score average for June came out to be 90, with only 6.3% of locations securing a spotless health record with a score of 100. A small minority of locations, just three, ended up with a score below 70.

Baguette et Chocolat, a local restaurant situated at 12101 FM 2244 Road, in Bee Cave, took the lead, achieving a flawless score of 100. The venue has been upholding this score since its last inspection in January 2023. The Canteen and Coffee Shop at Dell Seton Medical Center also attained perfect scores, emphasizing their dedication towards maintaining high hygiene standards.

Perfect Scoring Chain Restaurants

In addition to the independent restaurants, several chain establishments across the city also received perfect health inspection scores. The commendable chains include Jimmy John’s located at 2410 South FM 620 Road, MOD Pizza stationed at 9600 South I-35, Mr. Gatti’s Pizza at 12129 Ranch Rd 620 North, and Starbucks and Wingstop located at 17510 Schultz Lane, and 1420 West Wells Branch Parkway respectively.

The flawless health ratings achieved by these establishments emphasize their commitment to upholding the highest standards of food hygiene and safety. This accomplishment deserves recognition and appreciation, as it directly contributes to the wellbeing of their consumers and the local community.

Slow Month for Austin Public Health

The slower pace of business in June 2024 as compared to previous months resulted in fewer inspections being carried out, thereby dropping the Austin Public Health’s monthly average from 593 locations to 561. Despite the lower rate of inspections, these exercise actually turned out to be a positive news for the Austin dining scene, showcasing the commitment of local restaurants to meet, and even exceed, hygiene regulations.

Final Word

Food safety and hygiene are fundamental components of public health and every dining establishment, regardless of its size, should make it a priority. The onus is on all local restaurants and eateries to maintain high health and safety standards, not just to pass inspections, but more importantly, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their patrons.
