A wave of sophisticated leisure is set to hit Austin, Texas, as the nationally renowned Postino Wine Cafe announces its plans to open two new locations in the city. Residents and wine enthusiasts in the Zilker and Bryker Woods neighborhoods can look forward to a unique gastronomical experience, featuring a global wine list and a New American cafe-style menu.
The first Postino location will pop up in Zilker neighborhood at 1301 South Lamar Boulevard this summer, followed by a Bryker Woods branch opening at 1612 West 35th Street due in 2025. This expansion marks the chain’s first-ever presence in Austin, already home to an array of vibrant dining options and culinary delights.
Patrons stepping into Postino can anticipate a diverse wine list, showcasing selections from Europe, the Pacific Northwest, California, South America, and Australia. The array of beverages also stretches to include Texas beers, lemonades, palmers, coffee, and teas. In addition to the drinks, guests can explore lunch and dinner dishes like panini, bruschetta boards, abundant salads, and more.
Postino combines style and comfort to offer its guests an ambient dining atmosphere. Visitors at the South Lamar venue can expect an indoor dining area and a patio on the ground floor of a chic mixed-use development building. The space will feature design elements such as garage doors, a walnut wine wall, and mid-century furniture.
Launched in 2009 by co-founders Lauren Bailey and Craig DeMarco in Arizona, Postino falls under the umbrella of the Upward Projects company. Known for managing a robust portfolio of chain restaurants, Upward Projects established a formidable presence in the dining scenes of Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio before turning its eyes to Austin.
Postino’s impending arrival in Austin underscores the city’s growing reputation as a significant food and wine destination. As the Wine Cafe sets to open its doors, Austin’s residents and visitors will likely anticipate the distinctive vibe and gourmet offerings that have made Postino a beloved name beyond Arizona.
