As summer unfolds in Texas, locals and visitors in the Southwest Austin and Dripping Springs region can look forward to a wave of vibrant community events. From Pride festivals to live music gigs, the month of June is lit with a diverse line-up of activities.
Pride of Dripping Springs is one to mark in the calendar. This eagerly anticipated annual event is scheduled for the 22nd of June. Loaded with live music, shopping, food and drink experiences, and children’s activities, the Pride event is a town-wide celebration of inclusivity and companionship.
Blues on the Green brings music lovers together at Zilker Park on the 11th and 12th of June. Austin City Limits Radio guarantees a good time with its free concert series, as H-E-B and other sponsors keep the summer shows alive amidst rising costs.
The Austin Pond Tour, taking place on the 1st and 2nd of June, is another event not to miss. Organized by the Austin Pond Society, this tour will take attendees through a curated list of beautiful ponds and gardens in the city.
Southwest Austin’s events continue with the Unchained Foundation Inaugural Gala on the 15th of June. The event will raise funds for the non-profit organization dedicated to supporting families with terminally ill loved ones. A casino, silent auction, and live music from the local band Suede are expected to attract good attendance.
Drippin’ Dragons Reptile & Pet Expo is another interesting event happening over Father’s Day weekend, on the 15th and 16th of June. Attendees are sure to have a unique experience with educational talks, exotic animals, and an array of food options.
Father’s Day with Thinkery is a family-friendly event in the region, where the children’s museum Thinkery will offer crafts and activities at Meanwhile Brewing.
On 19th June, the Central Texas Juneteenth celebration will add another level of festivity. The day will begin with a parade starting at Martin Luther King Boulevard, ending with a festival at Rosewood Park packed with music, dancing, food, drinks, and kids’ games.
Pride of Dripping Springs 2024: After Dark event, which will showcase drag, aerial, and burlesque performers, will then take place. The event, open to those over 18, will be followed by a dance party DJ’d by Damn Gina.
Wrapping up the month is the Sips & Sounds Summer Festival at the Circuit of the Americas on 29th and 30th June. It’ll offer local food and drink vendors and live music performances from the likes of Kelsea Ballerini, Jon Pardi, Maren Morris, and more.
These community-fueled events do more than providing entertainment – they bring people together, support local businesses and artists, and contribute to various causes.
