New Retail Space, Housing Coming Soon to South Congress Avenue
Austin City unveils plans for a vibrant new mixed-use development on the bustling South Congress Avenue
Austin City is set to welcome a new wave of exciting real estate development with vibrant retail and residential spaces in the popular South Congress Avenue by 2027. The upcoming development, named Leland South Congress, is strategically located at the cusp of South Congress and East Live Oak Street.
The New Addition to South Congress
The development project lead by Intracorp Homes will erect a striking seven-story building, offering 270 residences and an expansive 22,000 square foot ground floor retail space. The retail partners for the venture have not been announced to date.
The fully equipped property will house well-designed studio and one-, two-, and three-bedroom condominiums alongside sought-after penthouse residences. The dwellers of the Leland South Congress will become privy to a range of upscale amenities including a swimming pool, private garden, pet grooming and play area, a library, versatile coworking lounges, fist-rate fitness center, and more.
Intracorp Homes Commitment to Community Engagement
Speaking of this significant initiative, William Sayers, Intracorp Homes vice president remarked, “It was important to us and the future of South Congress to place an emphasis on ground-level place-making, and continue to make South Congress Avenue the most dynamic and engaging pedestrian experience in Texas,”.
Keeping in line with the Transformation of South Congress
Keeping in line with the transformative changes that the South Congress Avenue is undergoing, another notable development is in progress by the New York-based developer, Related Cos. They are transforming a 6-acre site at the intersection of South Congress and Riverside Drive to include extensive retail space, a hotel, and more. The only property to remain at the site will be the historic karaoke bar, Ego’s established 45 years ago.
Leading from the Front
Intracorp Homes, a leading name in the realm of real estate development, is also the developer behind the lauded Congress Lofts situated in the St. Elmo District on South Congress Avenue. For the Leland South Congress project, the developer joined forces with the esteemed Michael Hsu Office of Architecture for the design.
Next on the Agenda
Construction of the new development is slated to commence in late 2024 and its completion is projected for 2027. Residents and business owners keen on setting up in this prime location can seek further information at www.lelandsouthcongress.com.
