Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Reacts to Trump Guilty Verdict and More at Consensus 2024 in Austin

US Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. poured out his thoughts on several issues during his appearance at the Consensus 2024 convention in Austin on Thursday. As a popular environmental lawyer, RFK Jr. eloquently handled questions that ranged from the Trump verdict to the future of cryptocurrency and innovation in America.

On Trump Verdict

In reflecting on the recent Trump verdict, RFK Jr. expressed a different perspective from the mainstream narrative. “I think this is the weakest case people brought against him, my belief is that it will end up helping President Trump among a large part of the American public,” he stated, indicating the potential backfire that the verdict could have on Trump’s detractors.

RFK Jr. On Judges

Switching gears to a discussion on the judiciary, his claim that “ The judges have one eye on the press and on the political system. And they’re not supposed to but they are. It’s just a fact that they’re sensitive about that“, appeared to call out what he perceives as undue influence on the judicial system by external entities.

The Question of Felons and Office

The issue of a convicted felon running for office was another area he touched on. “Technically, if you were in prison, convicted of murder or some other (hedonistical?) crime, you could still hold the office as President of the United States. Is that a good rule? I don’t know. But that’s the rule“, was his straightforward response, throwing some shade on the bizarre aspect of the rule that allows felons to hold high offices.

RFK Jr.’s Message about Cryptocurrency

RFK Jr. also aired his views on cryptocurrency and its potential to democratize the economy. He said, “The importance of having decentralized currencies that can reinvigorate our country. That can make our country once again a hub for innovation for entrepreneurship… Power to hold onto their wealth without delusion. Power to transport wealth across borders without the government confiscating it from you.” He also added that he was pleased to see Trump endorsing cryptocurrency.

Standing up for Cryptocurrency

The aspirant presidential candidate reiterated his intent to tackle issues currently facing cryptocurrency. Highlighting the importance of sovereignty over personal wallets and transactional freedom, RFK Jr stated, “ We need to make sure America remains the hub of blockchain technology. I’m going to make sure cryptocurrency is regulated in a way that protects the consumer from deceptive schemes.
