The Launch of Rockman Coffee + Bakeshop in Austin

Austin to Welcome a New Bakery by the Renowned Pastry Chef Amanda Rockman

The vibrant city of Austin, Texas, is set to welcome a delightful culinary addition as the renowned pastry chef, Amanda Rockman, has unveiled plans for her very own bakery, Rockman Coffee + Bakeshop. The new enterprise is anticipated to open doors in the Holly neighborhood at 2400 East Cesar Chavez Street, Suite 200 in the fall.

A Symphony of Flavors at Rockman Bakeshop

The Rockman Coffee + Bakeshop is set to captivate Austin’s culinary enthusiasts with flavors of Rockman’s baking expertise. Characteristically expressing its culinary offerings as “Caffeine, Gluten, Sugar, Butter, Booze,” the bakery will feature a smorgasbord of baked treasures in various forms.

Customers can anticipate a savory and sweet selection of croissants, featuring diverse flavors such as classic plain, tantalizing chocolate fudge, deluxe ham-cheese-mustard-churro, and luscious lemon meringue. Other bakery offerings will include an appetizing variety of cookies like halva chocolate chip and peanut butter and jelly, along with lusciously baked cakes.

Aside from baked goods, the bakeshop aims to tantalize the taste buds of its patrons with an exciting array of focaccia sandwiches. Some of the mouth-watering combinations include burrata, pesto, and prosciutto or the captivating blend of honeyed goat cheese with roasted tomatoes and green olives.

Simultaneously, bagel lovers will be in for a treat too, with a choice of plain, sesame, and cinnamon-sugar bagels served with schmears like French onion dip or an unusual yet tempting New York City cheesecake.

Refreshing Drinks to Complement the Delicacies

For beverage lovers, Rockman Coffee + Bakeshop plans a host of drink options. Coffee from Philadelphia-based roaster La Colombe will be on offer, flavored with in-house syrups. For tea lovers, a variety of tea options will be available.

Concurrently, cocktails will feature a selection of carafes like shandy and micheladas, alongside house specials. Also, nonalcoholic options will include revitalizing lemonades, canned cherry soda, and bottled water, ensuring a fitting beverage for every patron.

An Exciting, Comfortable Atmosphere Awaits Customers

Attention has been paid to creating an appealing and comfortable atmosphere for customers. Rockman, in partnership with architect Bengie Daniels of Latitude Architects, is carefully designing the bakery to include indoor seating with bars, high-tops, a lounge, and tables, as well as a pickup window. The baking kitchen will also be visible to diners. Grunge music from the 1990s, along with tunes from the alt-rock and indie rock genres, is expected to set an appealing ambiance.

A Glance at Amanda Rockman’s Culinary Journey

A native of Texas, Rockman studied at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. Her remarkable culinary journey includes work stints at restaurants in San Francisco, Austin, and Chicago. After nine fruitful years at the hospitality group New Waterloo in Austin, Rockman felt the urge to set up her own venture. Her successful stint on the show Beat Bobby Flay in 2018, where she famously trumped celebrity chef Bobby Flay with her tiramisu, is a testament to her exceptional culinary skills.

Rockman Coffee + Bakeshop—this new Austin bakery is a testament to Amanda Rockman’s culinary expertise and promises to be an exciting addition to the city’s culinary landscape.
