San Antonio Police Intensify Search for Teenage Murder Suspect in Austin Area

San Antonio Police Expand Search for Teenage Murder Suspect

San Antonio, TX – The hunt for a teenager accused of the murder of a Sonic restaurant manager has now widened to include the city of Austin. Authorities believe 17-year-old Adiyah Namir Roberson may be hiding out in the Austin area following her alleged role in a violent incident that led to the death of Daniel Shrewsbury.

The Incident

The tragic event took place on July 7th at the Sonic location on Babcock Road, situated on the city’s Northwest Side. According to reports from the San Antonio Police Department, Roberson is accused of attempting to use counterfeit money during a transaction. When an employee pointed out the illegitimacy of the currency, Roberson reportedly became aggressive.

In a bid to secure evidence of the crime, Daniel Shrewsbury, the restaurant’s manager, attempted to take a photograph of the vehicle Roberson was in. It was then that the situation escalated dramatically: police say Roberson shot Shrewsbury in the chest, ultimately causing his death on the scene.

Legal Developments

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle, Joshua Albert Joseph, was arrested approximately three weeks ago in connection with the incident. Facing serious charges, Joseph has publicly expressed regret regarding the events that transpired that day. “I apologize for the actions of somebody that happened to be with me,” Joseph stated. “None of that should have happened the way it happened. I wouldn’t wish death on nobody.”

Ongoing Search for Roberson

Despite Joseph’s arrest, Roberson remains at large. While the San Antonio Police continue to investigate, they are actively encouraging the public to come forward with any information. They assert that Roberson may still be in the Austin area, prompting a more extensive search involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

In their efforts to locate Roberson, police are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to her arrest. Individuals with information are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at (210) 224-STOP. It is important to note that tips can be given anonymously, providing a safe avenue for individuals to assist authorities without revealing their identities.

Community Response

This incident has raised serious concerns about safety in the community, especially in public spaces like restaurants. Many local businesses are taking this moment to evaluate and strengthen their security protocols. Following the shooting, some restaurants have begun implementing stricter measures in order to protect both employees and customers from similar threats in the future.

As the investigation continues, both residents and business owners in San Antonio and surrounding areas are left grappling with the reality of such violence occurring in their community. This tragic case serves as a reminder of the need for vigilance and safety practices, particularly for service industry employees who may often find themselves in precarious situations.

Final Thoughts

The death of Daniel Shrewsbury has left a mark on the community, urging many to reflect on the implications of violence and the importance of reporting suspicious behavior promptly. As the San Antonio Police Department progresses in the search for Adiyah Roberson, the community hopes for swift justice and a renewed sense of security as they move forward.
