San Antonio Police Seek Woman in Sonic Drive-In Shooting Case
San Antonio – Authorities are on the lookout for a 17-year-old woman connected to a tragic shooting incident at a local Sonic Drive-In that took place in July. The accused, Adiah Namir Roberson, is now thought to possibly be in the Austin area.
The San Antonio Police Department, alongside Crime Stoppers, is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to Roberson’s arrest. She faces serious charges, including murder and forgery.
The Incident
The events unfolded on the evening of July 7, around 9:30 p.m., at the Sonic Drive-In located at 5510 Babcock Rd. Officers rushed to the scene after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Daniel Lacy Shrewsbury, the restaurant’s manager, unresponsive from a gunshot wound to the chest. Sadly, Shrewsbury was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after police arrived.
According to law enforcement, the trouble began earlier that day when Shrewsbury discovered that Roberson attempted to use counterfeit money to buy food. Additionally, it was reported that she had taken money from an employee at the Sonic location.
Confrontation and Shooting
Shrewsbury confronted Roberson about the counterfeit money and left the premises to photograph Roberson’s vehicle license plate as evidence. At that moment, Joshua Joseph, who was with Roberson, became confrontational. According to police reports, Joseph threatened Shrewsbury, warning him he was going to get shot.
Just moments later, Roberson exited the vehicle and shot Shrewsbury. Following the incident, Joshua Joseph was arrested on August 16 and charged with murder. However, Roberson remains at large, prompting police to launch a manhunt.
