Austin’s Sherpa Snacks Soars from Farmers Market Stands to Food Truck

Austin, TX – What started as a small family-owned venture at the Texas Farmer’s Market at Mueller in 2021, has now bloomed into a thriving food truck business for Sherpa Snacks. Known for their flavorful offerings of Nepali comfort foods, Sherpa Snacks has enjoyed immense popularity for its dishes imbued with Himalayan spices.

The Journey to Expansion

Making their mark during the challenging pandemic times, Sherpa Snacks has been a consistent presence at the Texas Farmer’s Market at Mueller. In this family-led business, every member pitches in with the cooking translating their deep-rooted love for food into their mouthwatering offerings, all packed with the essence of Himalayan spices.

Featuring crowd favorites like pork belly, chicken momo (dumpling), vegetarian options, grilled chicken, and an array of delicious sauces including the Sherpa black sauce and Sherpa chili oil, Sherpa Snacks has defined its unique corner in the Austin food scene. Their signature items have drawn consistent praise and have helped their brand recognition grow in the local community and beyond.

The co-owners of the business include Renu Mama, responsible for the famous Sherpa black sauce and Sherpa chili oil. The family shares the cooking responsibilities, with Sajja Dijju taking the title of the “momo queen,” Pukar Bhai as the grill master, and Suresh Baba providing versatile support in the kitchen whenever necessary.

Welcoming a New Chapter with a Food Truck

The undeniable popularity and ever-increasing demand for Sherpa Snacks prompted the family to extend their reach beyond the farmers market. Now, they have expanded their operations through a food truck, catering to a larger audience and delivering the same quality and taste that catapulted them to local fame. This also provides customers an opportunity to enjoy their delectable offerings seven days a week.

Location and Availability

You can now find the Sherpa Snacks food truck stationed at 120 N Loop Blvd. However, those fond of their stall can still get their fix at the Texas Farmers Market at Mueller on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and at the Texas Farmer’s Market at Lakeline on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Beyond this, you can also place your orders on Door Dash, adding even more convenience to the process of accessing these delightful comfort foods.
