Austin, Texas – In an exciting move, Tecovas, the Central Texas-based boot brand, is expanding its western wear empire across the country. Since its founding in 2015, Tecovas has carved a reputation for itself in the boot market, and now it is venturing into the wholesale market for the first time.
Recently, Tecovas announced that its products will be available in 36 new stores across 10 states in the US. This expansion includes partnerships with nine retailers that are deeply rooted in western wear culture. Some of these retailers include well-known names like National Roper Supply, Lebo’s, Boots Etc., Murdoch’s Ranch & Home Supply, Howell Western Wear, Bullocks Western Store, and Crossbow.
In addition to these partnerships, Tecovas is opening a brand-new store in San Antonio this October. The new location, which comes with a price tag of $1.2 million, is part of the company’s wider plans to open a total of 11 new locations, bringing its count to 42 stores by the end of 2024. The San Antonio store will open between October 4 and October 6, with operating hours extending from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays, and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
Tecovas’ expansion marks a significant chapter in its long-term growth strategy. The brand aims to “build credibility and trust in local markets” by reaching consumers where they already shop. David Lafitte, CEO and President of Tecovas, expressed excitement about the new chapter for the company in a recent release, emphasizing that partnerships with respected retailers would help them maintain their commitment to quality while reaching more customers.
As of 2023, Tecovas has seen impressive growth, earning over $200 million in revenue. The brand is thriving, as interest in western wear continues to rise. Kim Heidt, the Chief Retail Officer, noted that eight new stores were opened in the previous year alone, which represented a 30 percent growth over the prior year. According to Heidt, “We are looking to grow another 30 percent this year” while expanding into new states like Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Ohio.
Following this expansion, Tecovas will have a presence in a total of 17 states, including Texas, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Arizona, Georgia, and Michigan. During the summer months, the brand opened new storefronts in locations such as Florida, California, Tennessee, and Massachusetts.
To add to the excitement, there will be some local stores near Austin selling Tecovas products as well. These include Texas Boot Company in Bastrop and Junk Gypsy in Round Top and Wimberley.
With such a robust plan for growth and collaboration, Tecovas is setting itself up for enduring success in the western wear market. The company’s trajectory suggests that, by prioritizing local partnerships and quality products, it is well-positioned to solidify its presence in new regions across the United States. As Tecovas continues to thrive, fans of western wear look forward to exploring the latest offerings from this beloved Austin brand.
