The successor to “Yellowstone”, known as “1923”, is set to continue filming in Central Texas this month. After recording significant scenes in Austin and Lockhart, the Taylor Sheridan-led show will proceed to Bartlett, approximately 50 miles north of Austin, to film on Aug. 19-20.
Information pertaining to upcoming filming locations and routines was disclosed in a July 31 post by the casting agency, Legacy Casting. The agency is currently scouting for women, men, and children to fill supporting roles in the second season of the western saga. Specific roles to be filled on Aug. 19 include sheriff’s deputies, business-suited men, townswomen, construction workers, servers, and a bartender. For Aug. 20, the casting team is seeking men in suits, townswomen, town children, women for switchboard operator roles, U.S. soldiers, along with Comanche men, women, and children. A paid fitting $35 in Austin will be necessary for these roles.
Aspiring candidates must be open to adapt their appearances to reflect the 1920s style, with men willing to trim or cut their hair and alter their facial hair. Candidates with visible tattoos on their hands, forearms, neck, or face are not eligible, and all personal jewellery worn must be removable.
Individuals interested in the said roles should email extras@legacycasting.com, with the subject line as “1923 BARTLETT”. This email should include the aspirant’s name, contact number, height, weight, a recent photograph and the role they wish to play.
The filming of the new season, which began on July 8, is projected to finish around mid-September. This Paramount+ show is expected to generate over $51 million, significantly contributing to the Austin-area’s economy.
It is currently unknown how many episodes the second season of “1923” will contain. The premiere season had eight episodes, which were broadcasted between December 2022 and February 2023. Halfway during its run, the show was granted the green light for a second season.
The show has been filmed at several locations, including Austin, Lockhart, and Bartlett for its second season. The latter was made to mimic Fort Worth in the 1920s. The first season of “1923” was shot in Montana, Tanzania, South Africa, and across Europe. Meanwhile, the related series “Yellowstone” was filmed in Montana, Texas, and Utah.
As of now, no official launch date has been provided for the second season of “1923”. However, it is expected to be released sometime in 2025.
